The Niagara Falls Local Food Action Plan

The Need for Action

There are many concerns about the quality and variety of food available to residents of Niagara Falls. Several neighborhoods in the area are classified as food deserts, meaning that residents have limited access to affordable, nutritious, and fresh food. The 41 recommendations outlined in the Niagara Falls Local Food Action Plan are important steps we should take to improve this situation. Residents of Niagara Falls need better access to nutritious and affordable food for their comfort and well-being, as well as for the long-term health of the community.

Our Vision

The Niagara Falls Local Food Action Plan serves as a guide for improving the entire food system in Niagara Falls, from production to consumption. Organizations and individuals are encouraged to make recommendations, which will be supported by the Healthy Food Healthy People Work Group of the Create a Healthier Niagara Falls Collaborative.
